A CLOWN IN THE TOWN

In the midst of a town,

There once stood a clown,

Which taller and taller grew,

And he walked with jerks few,

He enchanted kids with his charms,

And spells he did knew,

He told tales of dogs and cats,

And from his pockets rats he drew,

That hovered all over ,

Here and there,

And made the women rush,

Away from the market in hush,

To their homes confined.

He lived none knew where,

He said he flew,

And lived in clouds above,

None believed his tale,

Since jester he was anew,

But it did come true,

When one day amidst all kids,

And in their parents view,

He indeed flew,

To the clouds and sat atop one,

And from there he hooted,

And shouted and cried aloud,

Things strange and spoke an unknown tongue,

A damning curse began to take its shape,

And in the unsanctified town it grew,

It could not touch his mighty soul,

But all the rest that did dwell,

In the town died all and adrift.
