Toiling Night!

These first rays of sun

Have begun to enter my room

The dawn approaches the moon!

After a sleepless night I am going to bed

For the slumber to overcome me

When day is going to begin

My hard work's night has ended!

In a rough day ahead

I'll strive to sleep

But in such chaos

It seems worst to be!

Vivid Memories!

Those walks on the hills,
Up and down around in chill,
We wandered in amorous feelings
Every moment passed in peace
Serenity engulfed everything around
The long sittings in the cliffs
Seeing the setting sun
Hide behind the glowing hill
Down into the horizon.
An outline of the lofty mounts
That stretch as far as the eyes could see
An occasional bark of a deer
Or a terrifying loopard's roar
Could be heard rupturing the stll silence.
Early morning twitter of the birds
Suiting the scenery in perfection.
Friends' unions at our elysian college
That have us united
For those beautiful past memories
Which moistens my eyes with nostalgia,
Every corner and every passing tree
Has a unique memory to remember.
The expansive grounds of the Governor House
That we wandered so often in peace
Lost in wilderness of the great woods,
That communion with nature
Which matured us
Made our souls nurture
And was its nourishment.
Those memories I can never fail
For they'll define me till the end.
Here in the dead of night
I can recount them clear as crystal
Those winter evenings
In which we played truant
And went to relax in cliffs
To enjoy the natural beauty
To nourish our inner soul
For that peace is hardly found today.
At dawn we used to sit
At the serene lake's shore
Enjoying the first rays of sun,
Filtering the water pure,
Emerging from behind the mountain tops.
Swans that swam
Near the pristine library
Was a sight dear,
Travellers going berserk
At the beauty of the hills
Shreiking and shouting in joy
Of their soul's remuneration.
Winter's snow was so placid and calm
And its numbness
Was to us a charm.
Dwelling in this serene town
Of amour and joy
How everyday passed without cloy,
Love spreads here as the first rays of sun
Emanating from the heavens above
Shining in bloom
Driving away the gloom
A masterpiece has indeed been created here
By the mighty god
Where in tranquil silence
We can feel divine!

The Beautiful Beast!

With thy stripes

And thy face away from me

There is an eerie beauty

That you posess!

Thou stride with such regality,

The king of Jungle,

The giant feline,

That charm you have,

That glitter of your eyes

And thy royal tastes

Thy way of life

Enchants me unbearably.

In freedom you enjoy

The bright sun under the tree

With thy ferocity thou kill

The cattle and meek deer in might,

But not without a reason.

Seated aside the silent stream

On rocks and stones

Staring blankly down the ravine

My awe for thou

Seems growing endlessly.

To admire you

I follow you

To the hills and to the plains alike

In the jungles and thick woods

Just to get a glance of you

In all the places

That you haunt and dwell in

With thy superior elan

And as thou walk

Boasting of your royal clan

With alert ears

And swaying tail.

I am afraid to think

Of thy petty sparse numbers

Whilst man breeds in countlessness

Thou art dwindling to lifelessness

Thou shalt be fostered

Shall be guarded for

For thou art the original

Original star of the forest

Without whom light of life

Will be ravished.

The tide of hope

The ride of a goddess

And of mythical charm

Thou shalt live

Until the Doomsday

Comes to harm!

The War That Might Be

Days are tensed

The nights numb

Ferocious words are exchanged

Men are preparing

To kill one another

In the grandest way

The sister nations

The greatest foes

Are at the verge of a war!

One is denying its involvement

For the ruin of the other

Though evidences are clear.

Heated and boiled are the leaders,

With wrath and vengence one is filled

After the attacks of terror

A secret employment of the assassins

To hurt and damage

And create biggest harms.

A shadow of clouds

Subdues the sun,

And makes it darker than the night.

Chill of utter bitterness

Has entered the air,

Soon there'll be war

None know how mighty it can be

And how long it may last

Will it be the end of the world?

Or leave it devastated with a mighty blow

To wail and cry and live in woe?

The Beautiful Himalayan Hills

On moving down the hill

I encounter scenes beautiful

On moving up the hill

I can feel the increasing chill

The winter sun is bright

The birds twitter and chirp

In the pond swans swim

Soon the sky will transpose

And will be filled with clouds

I can sense it full well

Then there'll be snow

And the earth shall be white

The beautiful ferns and deodars

Shall be cast in silver

As the blooming and loving winter.

Amidst all this

There is the wildlife

Of the Jungles of Kumaon

There are deer and tigers

There are bears and vultures

What not is there in this diversity

Among this nature manifested world

Sparrows and mynahs haunt the trees

The cranes from the west

Come here in freedom

And in the sky they fly

In chains and in streaking lines up high

Sometimes lost in the thick fog

Sometimes under the sunny sky.

Here is the himalayan essence

As soothing & majestic

Are the lofty mounts

That one sees from here

With trees in the foregroung

Their silvery tops turn sanguine

As the sun dawns and as it sets

Resting beneath a mighty tree

I am lost in this pulchritude

My soul feels harmony

And it longs to be here for eternity

To be mingled with this god's creation lovely

My spirit clamours & cries to join this imagery

Afraid to be away back among the beings

For their this grace and symmetry

That lies within them

Has somewhere in dormant slumber

Forgotton its identity

Who in the worldly bargains

Have corrupted themselves

Losing that which is eternal bliss

And in their insatiaty

Search that which is their inner being.

THE CHRISTMAS EVE

In the eve of Yule

I sing this tune

To greet my beloveds

On the great season of joy,

Where love emanates from within

Like the rose peatals' aroma

Flowing like a river

And blowing like the wind of winter

It blossoms me and makes me rich

With feelings so dear;

This day is so different and so special

Every moment passes in beauty and amour

An antiquitic sentiment

Transports me to the world ancient

Where lord preaches

And disciples sing amorous and dutiful psalms

A sheperd solemnly guides his herds,

The silent stream flows without harm

Nothing is perturbed

Everything is calm

A fire lit in the fireplace

Glows majestically,

And the christmas tree

Laden with stars and bells golden and silver

Stands aside the fire light sanguine

The mood is indeed divine

And the ship sails the vast seas ahead

With white cotton-like clouds overhead

That sheds the snow thick.

Above in the enchanted night

Father Christmas rides his sleigh

Following his reindeer splendid

He carves his way through the nebulae

To make the children happy and gay

Above the snow-laden trees

Beneath the blazing moon,

He seems so fantastic

In full bloom,

Juveniles cry in joy

Their dream seems coming true

They desire and wish

And their innocence pleads

For their wishes are not selfish

In memory of lord

The divine God

One is engrossed

He enjoys and dances

And sings in tunes

The melodies of glory

Of the mighty lord,

He feasts and rejoices

And forgives his foes

In this season of joys;

He blooms in likeness

Of the Almighty

Who keeps an eye from the heavens above.
