Yearning to return to Heaven-like Home

The evening is silent,
The sun has died,
But there’s hope
Again it will rise.

The mountains stand high,
The lake’s water ripples,
The autumn dew,
Sheds from the skies above.

The autumn is transposing,
Into the winter months,
The days are short
And the nights rule.

In this tranquil silence
New moon in its full ardor moves,
Enchanting & casting a spell,
With its dewy moonlight,
In a trance I am subdued.

Fog is filling the open space,
Covering the lake and the trees.
From the shrine at the lake’s end
Dedicated to the regional goddess

Chants of spiritual notes recur,
The temple bells chime,
Muezzin’s mystical call,
And churches’ heavenly bells toll every hour.

As the noises die down,
Silence again pervades,
Having a divine power
Engrossing my earthly form!

I want to remain forever,
Even after my death, in this heavenly place
Away from the cacophony
Of those super-urban towns.

Here there is peace,
There are moments to share,
Time enough to conquer your soul,
So mystifying is this paradise!

But away from here,
Away from home,
In those mighty towns,
Where no true life remains,

I’m afraid I won’t be able to bear
Those hostilities, those cold feelings of beings,
Whose desires have risen,
To the zenith, lost in material bargains,

Without any emotions,
Buying and selling mankind.
I want to drift away from there,
To return forever to this heavenly place!

A day will surely come
When I will come back home
To this silence, to this beauty,
To be in God’s glory!!
